Ina C. Popova is a partner in Debevoise’s International Disputes practice who focuses on international arbitration and litigation and public international law. Ms. Popova is admitted to practice in Paris and New York and holds advanced degrees in English law. She leads matters in French and Spanish and often handles disputes arising out of Latin America and Africa. Ms. Popova has advised extensively on the interpretation of investment instruments and concession agreements, public international law and environmental law issues, international sanctions regimes, the interaction between international law and domestic law, international commodities and distribution contracts, complex shareholder disputes, and comparative law issues. She represents individuals, corporations and States and has broad experience acting as counsel under the rules of the major arbitral institutions and in court proceedings in federal and state courts in the United States. She serves in a number of leadership positions in international organizations, and speaks and writes regularly on arbitration and public international law-related issues. She holds an LLM from Harvard Law School, an MA and BA (Hons) with First Class Honours from the University of Cambridge, and a Maîtrise en droit comparé with high honors from the Université de Paris II Panthéon-Assas.
